I remember being in elementary school in downtown Toronto and my teachers would do a history lesson about how many people in the Middle Ages or before thought the world was flat.
Many countries believed that their navy could fall off the end of the world.
How could that be? There were Portuguese students in my class.
I didn’t think it seemed feasible at the time. Where would they go I thought?
I got an email the other day from somebody who had read one of my blogs.
She shared that she had moved to my hood from somewhere else to take a new job. Then she also shared that her employer just told her that her job was eliminated. She had only worked there for a couple of months.
It’s not what they promised you when they hired you.

There was an evening networking event and somebody asked me what I did? It stopped me for a while.

Always gets the conversation started. The smiles and the chuckles. That’s why it’s there. I’ve never changed the back. I have changed my job descriptions on the front over the decade I have been in business.Continue reading
Yes a New Year is upon us. Happened faster than we thought. What else is new?
I think that there will be a lot of changes in the workplace in the coming year. There will be a shortage of talent especially top notch digital talent. Today, Digital Marketers, Digital Strategy folks, SEO talent, and programmers are all very hard to find.
If you don’t have those skills acquire as much game as you can learn.
More people will be moving around this year than ever before. Some companies will portray them as opportunists. Remember companies killed company loyalty, not employees.
A young friend shared with me the other day that they had recently been promoted. Congrats I said. I shared her story with another friend and she asked me a simple question that made me reflect for a bit.
